Bath Arena
A concept for a new arena on the Recreation Ground, beside the River Avon in the centre of Bath. Apollodorus Architecture drew it up in 2023 as an alternative to the stadium scheme being taken forward for the club. We made the images that set it in the city.

The question
Bath is a World Heritage Site because of its Georgian terraces, its Roman baths and the way the city sits in a bowl of hills. The Recreation Ground lies at the bottom of that bowl, beside Pulteney Bridge and below the Abbey.
Anything built there is seen from above as much as from the street: from the hills, from the parades and from the river. The images had to show a building of this size in each of those views, and let a reader judge whether it belongs.
